Welcome to Krishna Basara
Introduction :-
N. Gollapalem village is located on the banks of sacred river Krishna, in between two famous temple towns -- “Mopidevi” known for Subramanya Swamy Temple on one side and “Hamsala Deevi” a holy place, where sacred river Krishna joins the infinite water pool called ‘Samudrah’ in Sanscrit, and merges with it, surrendering its identity and becomes one with it with all happiness. It is as though Samudrah (Ocean) has come forward and embraced his “dear” who has travelled miles and miles surpassing all obstacles like, forests, hills, barrages etc., only to be in the embrace of Samudrah (Ocean), her original source, river water, at that point, tastes salty, on the other side. And this village is surrounded by Amaravati, capital city of A.P., Kuchipudi –birth place of world famous classical dance form “Kuchipudi Nrutyam” and Machilipatnam, ancient port town and also known for Pandu Ranga temple. The village presents itself so beautifully with all natural greenary in the surroundings and green fields, flowing streams mixed with echo of sweet voices of all the birds that live on the trees spread over in the village, anybody’s heart blossoms with infinite happiness and great peace.
About Village :- The village has 350 families with a population of around 600 people known for their rule orientation, self reliance (created facilities like supply of purified water to the entire village, roads to reach their agricultural lands etc., on their own with their own resources and labour, without waiting for government help), mutual help, unity. The village is free from party politics/conflicts, factionalism reflecting great Hindu ideals that we have received as our culture and heritage which are gradually disappearing from our society. It is one of the few villages that still preserve these values, probably the best among them. Agriculture is the profession in general till the last generation and the present generation has taken refuse at the feet of Godess Saraswathi and occupied prominent positions in India and abroad. Among them 80 to 90 youngsters working in India and outside as scientists, engineers, doctors and technocrats occupying very high and strategic positions bring laurels to the village as well as to our country. However they still maintain contacts with the village and participate in the celebrations like Sri Rama Vasanta Navaratrulu, Ganapati Navaratrulu, Krishnashtami, Dassara Sarat Navaratrulu with families duly introducing them to folk arts like Kolatam, Chekka Bahajana, Social Dramas, mythological Dramas with poems and social Get-togethers with group lunch/dinners and exposing their families to the pure happiness available in the villages in the atmosphere as well as in the hearts of these noble souls.
Motivation Towords Temple Construction :- The thought flow behind constructing Sri Krishna and Godess Saraswati Twin Temples: Ramalayam and Anjaneya temples are already there in the village, then why these twin temples?
Lord Rama has lived righteous way in spite of many difficulties forgoing his personal comforts. He is an Avatara of Lord Vishnu, worshipable.Lord
Krishna has not only lived righteous way but also taught the entire humanity, as if teaching Arjuna only, the art of living which is now known as Bhagavad Geeta and He has become Jagat-Guru, Geetacharya. It is the only book on spirituality accepted by one and all universally.
Having taken birth in the community in which Bhagavan Krishna was born, influenced by His teachings to some extent, they have thought it fit to construct a glorious temple with high sculptural values serving twin purposes 1) spiritual 2) social, is the best tribute that they can pay.
Temple reminds us of His great teachings on one side and the Mandapam (inside Hall) will be useful for marriages, and other auspicious occasions on the other side.
The purpose behind constructing Godess Saraswati temple is to give a shape to great Hindu national slogan “Unity in Diversity”. Lord Krishna is worshipped in the name and form of Godess Saraswati.
Land of this twin temple complex is 1.25 acres and the mandapam will have 3,000 Sq.ft.as carpet area. They have a plan to construct Quarters for the Acharya who conducts puja in the temple. All the 350 families and these 80/90 youngsters have taken up the construction pooling together their intellectual, physical, and financial resources.
Let us pray God that their wish be fulfilled without any delay and obstacles.
